Story behind Karunyaa

Before I start the story firstly I would like to introduce myself. Hi, everyone my name is Karuna Chhetri and I’m the founder of Karunyaa and currently I’m pursuing MBA at Bennet university. Karunyaa is a handcrafted accessory brand Established in 2022. It is based in Siliguri, West Bengal, India.

Everything began when I visited a neighbourhood market (Paharganj) in Delhi with a friend. I’ll always be thankful to my friend for taking me to market full of vibrant colours

I was drawn to a few handloom fabric purses in a nearby store. But those bags appeared to be somewhat outdated. At that time, Karunyaa's concept was born in my mind. I wanted Karunyaa to be a place where handcrafted items can be sold that are stylish and appealing. It's a good idea to have bags that match your stylish to casual clothing. Something that can be used in daily life and is enjoyed and loved by our generations.Also,I wanted a name that resonates with my name, as the meaning of my name is love and compassion. I decided to name my brand after the other name of Goddess Laxmi which was Karunyaa.

As my roots are solely Connected to the Himalayas, I always had deep love for handloom products. We at Karunyaa make  Box bags, wallets, SlingBags and more that goes perfectly with all your outfits. Karunyaa decided to bring these handloom products With a touch of modernization at your doorstep with an easy access. Whether you are looking for a box bag for your daily commute or a sling bag for a night out, Karunyaa has something for everyone.

In place of animal leather, we at Karunyaa use vegan leather. We use compassion and love when producing our products. Additionally, we soon hope to introduce our unique and exclusive handcrafted journals. It has been a fantastic journey this far. Being able to watch Karunyaa expand was a dream, and one day we aspire to become a much bigger brand.
